Seeking Things Above

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. (Col 3:1)

Y-IKE-S!

Hello world... We're still hanging in there. We had one large tree come down but it landed in the driveway and missed our house. I have many co-workers that were not so lucky. Ike was not nice to the trees around here.

We don't have any power. However, our local power company expects to have us up this week. Those further east in Conroe could be without power for 2-4 weeks.

We have one generator that we switch back and forth from the well pump to the refrigerator. It's like camping all over again.

We thank God that we're doing well and praying for those close by that are not doing so well. Keep the Houston area in your prayers.

Grace and peace y'all.

Tony

Notice we are living like cavemen, but you can still get on the internet. Why can't all of our technology get me some electricity and running water right now? :)

Glad to hear the tree missed your house! I feel so bad for all the people who lost their power--2-4 weeks yet! Whew, I know I wouldn't handle that well!

Boy, that's too close for comfort! We have a leaning fence, but we got our power back yesterday around 5:00pm. Looking at other homes and seeing all of the trees down we were blessed to only have the damage we did.

Power is back! Whoop! (Whoop is an expression of excitement and joy for you non-Aggies).

I an so glad you are okay. We had a hurricane years ago and it is amazing what wind and rain can do.

Power is really a blessing isn't it!

Carol -

Thank you. Yes power is a blessing.

I'm going to Liberia next week. I'll be sleeping in the orphanage while I'm there. As a courtesy to us Americans, they will run a generator at night so an air conditioner can run in our room at night. Otherwise, no power is a way of life for them.

I was inconvenienced for a few days. Many here in the Houston area will be inconvenienced for weeks. However, we all know that eventually the power will be back and convenience will be back.

There are people in this world that don't even dream of such luxuries as electricity or refrigeration.

We are so blessed.
